Displaced. Then corrected.

01The idea

The body cannot pull itself back.

Vertebrae move forward under load and injury. The body has muscles to pull the spine back into extension. It has nothing behind the spine to pull a bone forward again, because the anatomy for it does not exist.

So the body does the only thing left to it. It compensates. It bends elsewhere to keep the eyes level and the airway open, and it carries that compensation for years while the original fault stays exactly where it is.

Every treatment that only relaxes the compensation leaves the cause untouched. That is why the pain comes back.

Advanced BioStructural Correction removes the mechanical blocks in the order the body will accept them, so the compensations release on their own. Correct the structure and function follows. It is not a philosophy. It is load bearing.

02Practice and credentials

Twenty years correcting structure, not managing symptoms.

I qualified as a chiropractor in 2006 and moved to Advanced BioStructural Correction because it answered a question standard practice could not: why do patients improve and then relapse on a schedule. The answer was that we were treating the compensation and calling it the problem.

Since then I have built SpineCentral in Hampton into a structural correction clinic that holds a single standard, taken ABC to Level 3 certification and instructor status, and added Endonasal Cranial Correction and Applied Kinesiology where the structural picture demands them.

The measure of the work is not how a patient feels on the day. It is whether they stand differently in six months and stay there.

03The book

Unlocked

Written for the person who has been told they have done everything and this is simply how their back is now. It is not a self help book and it does not ask anyone to think positively about pain.

It explains what actually holds a body out of shape, why the standard sequence of scan, painkiller, physiotherapy and management so often ends in the same place, and what has to change mechanically for recovery to hold.

The body can recover further than anyone has permitted you to believe.

For practitioners

If you are a chiropractor reading Unlocked and recognising your own relapsing cases in it, the training route is ABC Europe rather than the book. Start with an introductory seminar and see the mechanism demonstrated before you decide anything.

ABC Europe training

04ABC Europe

Building the certification infrastructure for structural correction in Europe.

As President of ABC Europe I am responsible for how Advanced BioStructural Correction is taught, examined and certified across the continent. The organisation exists so that a patient in any European city can find a practitioner who has been held to the same standard, and so that a practitioner has a route from first seminar to Level 3 and on to teaching.

Technique without certification is a rumour. The standard is the product.

  • RolePresident
  • RemitTraining, examination, certification
  • PathwayIntroductory seminar to Level 3 to instructor
  • AudienceQualified chiropractors across Europe
05Speaking and teaching

I teach practitioners and I speak to rooms that are tired of being managed.

Sessions are demonstration led wherever the room allows it. The mechanism is more persuasive when it is shown on a body than when it is argued from a slide.

  • Why the body cannot self correctThe anatomical case for structural correction, for clinical audiences.
  • Compensation as the thing you keep treatingWhy relapse is predictable, and what changes when the sequence changes.
  • Building a clinic on a standardSystems, statistics and delegation for practice owners.
  • Structural correction for the non clinical audienceCorporate, sport and general audiences on posture, load and recovery.

Formats: conference keynote, half day and full day practitioner training, seminar, podcast and panel.

What to send

Date, city, audience and whether a treatment table is available. If it is a practitioner audience, tell me their technique background. That changes the session considerably.

06The clinic

SpineCentral, Hampton

I see patients at SpineCentral, the structural correction clinic I founded in Hampton, South West London. The clinic runs a full practitioner team, so an initial assessment there is with one of our certified practitioners and not necessarily with me.

If you are looking for treatment rather than for me specifically, go straight to the clinic. That is where the examination, the assessment and the care plan happen.
